        This item finally makes it affordable to upgrade your plain battery-operated lamp. The plastic head reflects light to the sides to the reflector it is intended for. I decided to order a faux base made on a lathe out of aluminum. Then I fixed the LED onto it so that it produced a compatible krypton-like bulb. For use with a single Li-Ion cell, a 1ohm/2W resisror is necessary to limit the current through the LED. I connected this one in the rest of the circuitry as the bulb was too small to contain it. The cooling base of the LED was internally insulated from the input wires in both pieces I ordered; most such LEDs have it connected to the positive terminal.
